Brihadeeswarar Temple, also known as Peruvudaiyar Kovil, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva. Built in the 11th century by Raja Raja Chola I, it showcases Dravidian architecture and is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the 'Great Living Chola Temples'. The temple's towering vimana, made of granite, is one of the tallest of its kind. It remains an active place of worship and an architectural masterpiece of Tamil Nadu.
