Crater Lake, formed over 7,700 years ago after the eruption of Mount Mazama, is renowned for its striking blue color and clarity. The lake, located in the caldera that was left behind, features Wizard Island, a cinder cone that adds to the dramatic landscape. Surrounded by steep cliffs and forests, the park offers a diverse ecosystem and stunning panoramic views. It is one of the deepest lakes in the United States, reaching depths of up to 1,949 feet.
