Indospectrum

The vibrant bands of color around this geothermal spring are caused by microbial mats thriving in the mineral-rich water, creating a striking array of orange, yellow, and green hues. Located in Yellowstone National Park, it's the largest hot spring in the United States. The turquoise center is intensely hot, with temperatures exceeding 160 degrees Fahrenheit, making it inhospitable to life, which results in its clear, vivid color.
